This is my place to ramble about anything I feel like. You'll meet my family, my best friend, and my work community.  You will probably hear me complain about something at least once.  Please leave me a comment...I love hearing from you!

Sensitive

Yesterday I felt like I was hanging on by a thread...fortunately for everyone involved, I was NOT hanging on by a thread while wearing a green leotard!

Yesterday I had one of those days ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY where I just felt sensitive.  I took everything personally.  I felt like one of my co-workers was trying to make my job harder -- which I don't think she truly was.  But I felt that way.  (It's how she comes across sometimes most of the time -- but that day it was personal)

I felt like Larry snapped at me.  Today I look back and realize that he was just stressed about his elbow still hurting and him needing to go to the doctor AGAIN.  Yesterday, though, his tone of voice was personal for me.

I was tired.  I just wanted to be home doing load after load of laundry (not that our septic can handle that much laundry) and mopping my floors.  Mind you, I didn't want to have the boys home with me. I just wanted to be home cleaning and making our house into a home again.

Apparently I wasn't the only one who was sensitive yesterday.  Dalton cried about everything.  I tried to be gentle with him and mindful of his feelings, but pretty soon I was just done with his tears.  He fell asleep at 6pm.  Don't you wish you could go to bed that early on nights when you are just DONE?

Colton was having issues with his belly and his teeth.  Poor kiddo is cutting his first set of molars and they are P-A-I-N-FULLLLLL.  And we didn't have any milk because his mommy was tied up in being all sensitive about her own issues and COMPLETELY FORGOT TO STOP.  Instead he got to stay up a little late with Momma and watch "Wipeout".  He had no clue that it is one of his brother's favorite shows, he just knew he was getting alone time on the couch with Mommy.  After Daddy got home (with the milk), Cole hung out a bit longer with us then happily went to bed.  Unfortunately (for Mommy's sanity) he went to bed 2 hours late.

I was happy to wake up this morning and realize it's a new day.  I am not feeling as sensitive as I was yesterday and am hoping that by tonight I'm back to my normal self.

Starting Fresh

If you want to make a room feel fresh, paint on the walls with do the job.  Starting fresh with some really great paint will make everything feel new.  I know (at least in our house) part of that is because paint covers finger prints, scuff marks, and any other imperfections on the wall.  Since I grew up in the military housing of the world, we had white walls 75% of the time.  When we were allowed to have painted walls, I loved having color on my walls.  In KY my bedroom was blue...and I loved it.  What is your favorite wall color?

Potawatomi Zoo

Saturday Larry didn't have to work, so we piled in the truck and went to South Bend to the zoo.  Larry and I both LOVE the zoo.  Dalton loves the zoo too.  Even though this trip was the first zoo visit for Cole, I am fairly certain that Cole loves the zoo just like us.

I could TOTALLY load you up with pictures in this post, but instead I think each post this week will have a zoo picture. Do you feel lucky?

The Potawatomi Zoo isn't the biggest zoo we've been to, but it is a gorgeous zoo.  It's nice to not have to spend the entire day packing for, driving to, walking through, then driving home from the zoo.  At P.Z., we can just decide at 1pm to go to the zoo, and by 5pm we are done.

We also bought the zoo pass, so that means we can go anytime we want to! It'll be nice on days when Larry has to work for me to decide that we should go to the zoo and we can. Oh, and the other benefits of our zoo pass is that we get into a ton of other zoos for free and a bunch more zoos for 50% off.  If we want to go to Brookfield Zoo, it will cost us half price....same for Binder Park Zoo.  You can't complain about saving MORE on 2 zoo visits than what your membership cost!

Ok...like I said, I'll show you some pictures and then I'll shut up. I don't wanna completely bore you guys with the 101 reasons we love the zoo.

P.Z.'s pet peacock.  The peacock roams free, so you never really know where you'll find him.  Today he was having a snack and let me take a few pictures.

They just added flamingos, so it was fun to see a new set of animals!

Dalton's Birthday

Oh we had the best day.  I am so glad that I've made the choice to take the kids' birthdays off.  Each year I know that 2 of my vacation days are spent on them (unless their birthdays fall on the weekend, of course).

Dalton chose Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday.  When we walked in, he told the man at the door that it was his birthday so he got a sticker.  We played at Chuck E. Cheese for a couple hours, and Dalton won some pretty cool prizes.  Cole even played some of the games and discovered that Daddy knew how to go down a slide -- and Daddy even taught him how!

Please enjoy this pictures from our time at Chuck E. Cheese...because I enjoyed taking them!

Riding a ride --which I'm sure Dalton could tell you the name of...but I have no clue! He spent a lot of time riding stuff, then coming and telling me "HEY MOM! I just rode the *blah-blah-blah*".  [He didn't actually say BLAH BLAH BLAH, but that's how I heard it...sort of like Charlie Brown's teacher.]

I don't know why, but Cole loved this particular game.

Riding the monster truck on Cole's token...Cole decided he did NOT like it.

Two of my handsome HANDSOME men. :)

Just cause...
